Fast Fashion – Who is Responsible?

There is an obvious issue when it comes to fast fashion with the effects it is having on the environment. We are now aware of these but still not a lot is changing. Our society is used to hyper consumption but now we are in a climate crisis we cannot afford to live like this. We must become more sustainable.
The big question we now have is who is responsible? The brands who sell fast fashion or us the consumers who contribute towards fast fashion?
Well really it is both – we the consumers should make a difference as we need to change out habits in order to make brands produce less. We should also try to buy more second hand to slow down the demand or swapping clothes with friends instead of buying a new outfit for every event. But the big brands also need to make an effort to sell more sustainable products. Brands also need to reduce the amount of wastage, they should recycle unused materials or old stock rather than dumping or burning it.
