WHY SHOULD YOU FOLLOW THIS BLOG?

The Self-Care Society will appeal to anyone who is looking to improve their mental and physical wellbeing. Anyone who is concerned with becoming more aware of how they use digital technology and wants to make a conscious effort to use it positively is in the right place!

Mental health struggles are on the rise: according to 2018 statistics, suicide rates have increased among under 25’s by 23.7%. I will be researching how known causes such as low self-esteem could possibly be wrapped up in the digital impacts of technology. The Self-Care Society aims to deliver a safe place, encouraging authenticity and genuine connection.

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF SELF-CARE?

The meaning of self-care is entirely down to the individual, so please don’t think that in order to carry out self-care acts, you must exercise, eat super healthy, practice mindfulness… you understand my drift. I have started with these as foundations, these are simply my immediate ‘go to’ things for pleasure. Self-care can be as little as treating yourself to your favourite coffee in the morning or as big as independent trip abroad!

WHAT SHALL I EXPECT?

I intend to motivate and influence the act of self-care through my interests through a personal, chatty, yet informative tone. You can expect a friendly ‘big-sister’ figure who intends to support and look out for her readers.
