Hey everyone, let’s take a look at how clubs financial aspects are evolving in a positive way around the media. I think that is a crucial point to take a look into it since the football industry is now in a tremendous amount of money thanks to media channels, especially TV.

Football Industry Getting More Expensive ?

It is a controversial topic that football industry getting more expensive every day. Nowadays, especially rich and strong clubs pay extremely high prices to transfer players from other clubs. This high price tags on players seem to have significant effect on the player market. I mean you cannot expect other clubs set lower price tags while the others have extremely expensive players for sale since there will always be clubs to buy them and I think that what makes the player market almost unaffordable for smaller clubs who do not have enough money to compete richer clubs in the market. Check out these incredible transfer fees and how they increased over the years.

TV has a significant effect on club revenues than you think

Most likely many people wonder how football clubs are able to spend huge amount of moneys. They sell players and merchandise. Yes, these are some common revenues of football clubs. However, I believe there is one more critical financial support for clubs and it is the tv broadcasting rights value.

Especially major Europe football leagues pay extremely high tv broadcasting revenues. For example, English premier league, without a doubt one of the most popular football events in the world, paid over 5 billion pounds to the clubs compete in the league between the years 2016 and 2019.

English Premier League domination and the inevitable gap

Premier league is not the only league in Europe that benefits. Other European clubs make a lot of money as well. However the  financial gap between english clubs and the others is almost inevitable thanks to crazy tv rights revenues. For instance, there were only 3 Spanish football clubs that had a better tv rights income than premier league clubs back in the season 17\18.

If we consider the fact that Spain La Liga might be the most popular football league besides  the EPL , still chasing the English clubs from very behind in terms of tv right values.

Conclusion

Media and especially TV has a dominancy over football. It is not a lie. Especially if you think about it how a single media channel is powerful enough  to make this industry and the clubs more encrusted than ever. I can see the dazzling light at the end of the tunnel but i doubt it is coming from the green pitch.
