Ever wanted to know how you can get more out of your social media platforms? Other than just posting content and viewing others opinions and comments? Truth is you can. Social media has developed so much that with the use of business accounts on platfroms such as Facebook or Instagram, we can now see more of what’s behind the comments and interactivity on the platforms we use and take it to our advantage. This and also paying more attention to the comments and information given by your users will allow you to see what really needs work and what’s great about your content. All this will be discussed today in showing you how you can use your social platforms as a forum for feedback.

The main issues we are faced with now is the amount of feedback we get on our social platforms. Sometimes there is so much that it can be hard to filter through all of it and find what’s relevant to what you need in particular. That’s why you can use social media listening tools. These are tools online specifically designed to allow you to find where your business name has been used anywhere online. This can be done by searching keywords, hashtags you use to identify your company with your audience and even simply your company name. There are many of these tools; Mention and Hootsuite, just to name a few I have tested myself. Using these listening tools then allows you to see exactly what your consumers think and feel about the content or service you are providing and also it lets you see the important stuff in a quick time span, rather than spending hours scrolling through spam comments.

Another method you can use if you have a measurable following is having brand ambassadors that can engage with your consumers directly. These are people that have a love for your brand and want to discuss it further with others for their own enjoyment, which also enables you to reply to your consumers in some sort of way. You can choose to reward your ambassadors in some sort of way but that’s really up to you and what you can afford to do as a content creator, but overall they are a really good thing to have as it shows your brand loyalty and how much you respect others opinions to better yourself.

Additionally, as mentioned in the introduction of this post, you can use social media platforms analytics. This allows you to see the overall performance of your business profile, how many visits you have, which posts are most interacted with and how people access your profile from around the world. By looking at all this data it lets you see what content should be aimed at who and where you should focus your energy. For example, if you see your audience like a particular topic area, write more about that topic area, if you see a particular age group engaging more than another, write more content for that age group but also see what can be done to be more connected to the other groups that do not find so much interest in your content. This tool allows you to make sure you are focusing all your efforts on what your content users want to see and shows that you are listening to their opinions and suggestions to benefit yourself.

Others that are popular and worth mentioning are surveys and simply directly posting and asking your audience for feedback. These are very straight forward and simplistic so if this is what you feel will work for you then go ahead. Yet consider that not all the comments from the status you post might not be relevant as you cannot control if people answer your question or speak about something else. Also, many people are disinterested in surveys as they take too much of their time, unless they have something really important or detailed to say. So, with these two methods you may still end up with missing information or with a confusing bunch of comments that you cannot really make sense of or have much time for.

I hope you have enjoyed this post on looking at how you can use social platforms as a way of receiving feedback and using it to adapt your content.
