The work experience I have been a part of has shaped my knowledge of creating content for social media. I had the opportunity to be part of the filming of new content for B2 Chalfont Clinic. The filming was an excellent chance to go beyond my social media coordinator job role.
I was offered the opportunity to develop my content filming skills and interview skills. I jumped at the chance to leave the desk in exchange for getting up close with the clients. The filming day was also the first time I would meet both Lewis (my boss) and the client for the first time face-to-face, after only having contact through Zoom.
I was very nervous…
I began the day with my mask firmly on, and the new Wakanda forever type greeting that is slowly replacing the handshake. After being introduced to Ben Boutler, the head practitioner at B2 Chalfont Clinic and getting the rundown of what I would be doing for the day, I was ready to get stuck in.
Throughout the day, I would be conducting various interviews with patients and with Ben himself. These interviews are later used on social media as educational and persuasive posts. I gained the confidence and communication skills to lead a solo interview; up to this point, I would always have another interviewer aiding me. These transferable skills will assist me in future endeavours; already in my university assignment, I have to carry out sensitive topic interviews.
The day progressed with Lewis and I taking turns filming and photographing various chiropractic sessions Ben was having with his patients. Getting up close and personal with my client gave me a greater insight into how their business operates. This knowledge is lost in the virtual world but comes from asking questions and advice on your previous work.
