5 Things To Be Excited For In 2020

New music- aka new grimes

The album is coming, and it’s coming in hot. It feels like an eternity since the anti-blue light genius starting realising singles for this album and it’s only now we have a realise date. The album is set for early February and I may actually collapse like neutron star when it does.Image result for grimes album cover With her latest single ‘my name is dark’ creating storms, it’s safe to say this may be the best album she’s realised yet. This will be an incredible strong album to start the year off, let alone the decade. That’s if we don’t return to the dark ages when the UK fucking votes for the wrong bloody thing again. Of course, there are more people realising albums too, just excited for this one, is that okay? An album which seems to be about dark thoughts relating to Grimes own mental health will be an incredible way for younger fans to become aware of the struggles people can have with this and open anyones eyes who weren’t full informed before.

How many times you can listen to cry me a river by Justin Timberlake

Let’s be real, all you want to do is sit and listen to JT sing his heart out into a body of water while you cry into a cold chicken and mushroom pot noodle. The start of a new year if perfect for that and if you start at midnight, and if my maths is correct, you can listen to it 117,321.4 times before the year is up. But, is that even enough? I could easily have it two or three more times on my queued songs.  I know for sure I’m going to be spending all of my year wrapped up like a scotch egg, watching spy kids three with sign language enabled, listening to this monster of a track.

Coldplay  solving global warming to sell a tour

What next The 1975 wont tour till they figure out cold fusion? Honestly, I think it’s great that such a public band is caring about the environment. However, most of the pollution is from huge companies not them and unless they can stop them it feels kind of a hollow promise. That’s not to say every single one of us shouldn’t do what we can for the environment- go have a salad not a steak, aye, Keith. Perhaps, they should just give all the money you made off the new album into planting trees and charity’s?

But no, you didn’t do that because this was a publicity scheme for their new full length, and I bet they end up touring next year with or without environment touring plans. It was like Coldplay thought firing a nerf gun at the ocean would fix it.. They sound about as wise as the old man in the Stag and Cucumber who told me that “cardboard was created by the Saxons to weaponise paper”, thanks Steven but I’m pretty sure that’s not true, although what was I to believe he was spooning baked beans into a gin and tonic and calling it “continental”. I think it’s incredible important that anyone with the platform to discuss climate change is important, and everyone should be doing it. We need to make 2020 about saving the planet and it is incredible when artists provide a path to their fans to organisations, such as Sea Shepherd, that provide a difference. but, don’t do it to sell albums, aye Coldplay.

artists who are gonna tour

We are hoping for a big year for touring bands, especially in the UK. With Brexit possibly slapping us it’s going to be harder for bands to tour, thanks Boris, But, here is to hoping. Who can afford therapy? not us. so go see your favourite bands a cry all the bad stuff away and come out of it feeling 100% better. We are still waiting to hear if MCR will be coming to the UK, we are all on the edge of our seats humming famous last words. We are racking up a list of bands we hope tour, and they are probably; Bladee, Have A Nice Life, and Architects. Hoping to see these artists drop serious live shows in the UK for me to swing my arms like a helicopter made of banana bread to. I’m sure we can rely on Bring Me The Horizon to come down south and crush me in the pit.

new games means new soundtracks

you probably don’t know this about me, It would be weird if you did, but I love game soundtracks. days upon days I’ve spent of this year throwing ham over my shoulder and weeping over the Dark Souls 3 scores. with a new year in sight that means big titles are on the way and trust me when I say “THE LAST OF US 2 SOUNDTRACK IS GOING HIT HARDER THAN ” so will Cyberpunk most likely, here’s to hoping for an electronic metal song fronted by Keanu Reeves and with a wicked saxophone solo by Sir Paul McCartney while he is blazing up a Cadburys cream egg. Image result for last of us 2Let us not forget how incredible the animal crossing music is going to be, like seriously that gonna pop. Gaming has always been an outlet for so many people, and showing a hands on side to mental illness, global conflicts, the environment, and has become one of the best ways to display a story that will change your life. and their soundtracks are no exception. With Death Stranding hitting us in the environmental bubble it was slapping us back and forth with a fish made of our own doing.

and that’s our list! what are you excited for next year? tweet us @SnapTheCD
