The Future of Technologies in Business!

The future for businesses is going to be huge with the new technologies that are going to be released in the upcoming years.

Technology and social media have been on an incline since the early 2000’s, with new generations of apple products and popular social media platforms being released every year. Our dependence on new technologies and being connected online has become so important that we now only realise when it is missing instead of when its present, due to it becoming an everyday object for society to be connected to. Every year more people get connected through new technologies, making the consumer field so much bigger, which is important for businesses who use it for advertising and commercial reasons. By creating new technology, it is going to allow companies to explore ways of advertising and promoting themselves to a whole new level. This week Las Vegas held the Consumer Electronics Show, with more than 4,400 companies exhibiting, showing off new technology they have created, which will be available in the future. I will be exploring some of the new devices that have been created which may allow companies to boost their methods of advertising.

The LG OLED Televisions

LG debuted a new ‘rollable’ TV, which allows the TV to roll up and hide away into a small box, making it discreetly hide as a piece of furniture instead of taking up a huge bulk of space, as it can be unveiled when its needed. This TV is going to be extraordinary when it comes to the world of advertising, as the way it was shown at the CES in las Vegas was the screens bent around and joined together to create one humongous screen that was moved around and shaped to make a beautiful display. The TV screens are so thin they have become flexible enough to bend, which has turned them into beautiful pieces of art, creating huge exhibitions. If big brands and companies get on board with this, they will be able to create giant pieces of work when advertising, which will generate a much bigger statement, causing a lot of attention. Obviously, this isn’t idealistic for small businesses, however eventually the new technology becomes so normal it will be available for more people.

Insta360 GO

GoPros are a thing of the past since Apple released a new form of portable camera, which is smaller and sleeker than the classic GoPro. It can clip onto clothing and glasses to create a much more personal ‘point of view’, which may be useful when creating advertisements and short business videos to give a personal aspect, making it more relatable to consumers. Unlike the GoPro it allows for a lot of new features including:

  • Auto-Editing: It edits the clips by theme and quality, allowing you to just focus on the videoing. It gathers all of the best bits together, filtering percentages of different things from people to food to forest.
  • Slow Motion: Built in slow motion mode, making huge moments look even more iconic.
  • Time lapses: It comes with a variation of add ons too, including a stand too which allows for still movements permitted when creating a time lapse.
  • Barrell Roll: Allowing you to change the rotation of the clip through a connected app on your phone.
  • Stabilization: It has stabilization included, meaning high quality videos, especially when recording action shots.

By creating such high-quality videos with such a small sized camera and at a reasonable price of only £175, including all the attachments. This improvement of technology is allowing businesses to create better content with easier access, which we will see in the future as we gain access to the gadgets being released currently.

Wearable Tech

Another new technology that wasn’t featured in the CES in Las Vegas but is coming soon is the Wearable tech, from clothes that display tweets and glasses with built in cameras, which Google have spoken about. This area of new technology will create a huge change within businesses as we discover new ways to generate audiences and delve into the new ways to use this new advanced technology to our advantage with businesses.

The new wearable technology will benefit smaller businesses as customers will be easily accessible as it will be constantly on them instead of having to be on their phones or other devices all the time. In the long run this would hopefully boost engagement and community within their brand and consumers.

Having new gadgets to play with in the business world allows for a whole new playing field to be generated within advertising and in creating new relevant content for different social media and promotion platforms. Hopefully this has been an interesting look into what the future could look like with big companies like Apple and Google making huge breakthroughs. Please comment below and let me know your thoughts and what you’re more excited for.
